Sanjo Seisakusho Iwasaki Kamisori × Vintage Nakayama Nagura Set

This is a special set combining an Iwasaki kamisori, forged by the modern blacksmith Mizuochi who carries on the Sanjo Seisakusho lineage, with a rare vintage nagura that was originally sold during the era of Iwasaki Shigeyoshi.

The included nagura is believed to be Nakayama stone from around the 1950s–1970s, primarily from the Kurumaguchi and Inoshiriguchi strata. These are exceptionally scarce today and rarely appear on the market.
The original box, still bearing the “Sanjo Seisakusho” marking, highlights both its provenance and its excellent state of preservation.

What makes this piece particularly noteworthy is that this nagura is not merely an accessory, but a carefully selected working tool chosen during the time of Iwasaki Shigeyoshi specifically for finishing Japanese straight razors.
To meet the delicate requirements of kamisori sharpening, only stones with superior particle consistency, slurry quality, and sharpening feel were selected.

Today, vintage Nakayama nagura of this class are extremely difficult to obtain and are highly valued even as standalone collector’s items.
Paired with a modern Iwasaki kamisori by Mizuochi, this set represents a rare fusion of historical philosophy and contemporary craftsmanship, offering both exceptional usability and significance.

Iwasaki Kamisori - This beautiful hand forged Japanese kamisori comes directly from Iwasaki and will certainly take your straight shaving experience to a whole new level. Made of soft and hard steel forged in the hand, after which the chamois is shaped, sanded and polished to finally get the characteristic features. The name feature which shows that this is a true Iwasaki Kamisori. Now Made by Ryoichi Mizuochi, the production of these Kamisori razors hasn’t changed in more than 50years Swedish steel laminated to softer Jigane low carbon steel.
