For Repair / Restoration 

  1. Kindly e-mail us the size (mm), weight (g), photos of the knife / knives to be restored / repaired, and specific instructions (if any). For the purpose of determining the insurance cost for shipping, please also give us the estimated value/cost of the knife.

  2. Upon assessment of the knife, we will send a quotation and estimated completion date for the required restoration / repair work. Whenever possible, aside from the cost for the restoration / repair work, the quotation would also include all cost chargeable to the customer (i.e. return shipping fee, insurance, duties and taxes, etc.). 

Note: We will send a revised quotation in case there are costs (i.e. duties and taxes) that we were not able to determine prior to receipt of the knife / knives."

  1. To proceed with the transaction, kindly e-mail us to inform us that you are agreeable to the quotation. We would then send an e-mail reply to acknowledge receipt of your confirm to the quotation."

  2. "Kindly ship the knife/knives via EMS or other courier service (e.g. DHL, Fedex, etc.). Kindly e-mail to us the shipping document (i.e. waybill with tracking no.) so that we would know when the knife / knives were shipped as well as the courier service used.  We would inform you via e-mail once we receive the knife/knives.

Kindly settle the payment via Paypal or Visa.  We would e-mail you to confirm receipt of your payment"

  1. Once restoration / repair work is finished, we would send you pictures of the knife / knives for your comments (i.e. if everything was done according to your expectations). If everything is in order, we will ship back to you the knife / knives.  We will send you a copy of the shipping document (i.e. waybill with tracking no.) so you will know the date when the knife / knives were shipped, the addressed it was shipped to, and the courier service used."

  2. Kindly e-mail us to acknowledge the safe receipt of the knife / knives.

 

Note: In case of Force Majeure, reimbursement would be based on the availed insurance coverage.  Force Majeure also absolves Ikyu on delays in delivery/ship back of knife/knives to the client.

If the proper care and maintenance is done, good quality Honyaki knives can last for 10 years of professional kitchen use and up to 100 years of ordinary household use.  On the other hand, good quality Kasumi knives can last for 3 years of professional kitchen use and up to 30 years of ordinary household use.
