Description

This is a rare Ozuku Mizu Asagi rated at Lv.4.0. In recent years, most Ozuku stones available in the domestic market tend to be harder (Lv.4.5–5.0) and are often recommended as finishing stones for razors. In contrast, this piece is relatively softer, making it a rarer and increasingly difficult type to obtain.

It was sourced from the inventory of a member of the Kyoto Natural Whetstone Association. Due to the supplier’s circumstances, the sharpening surface was not fully finished, and some grinder marks remain visible on the surface.

We offer flattening (lapping) service upon request. Please leave a message at checkout if you would like this service. Kindly note that the surface stamp will be removed during the process, and approximately 2 mm of material will be taken off.

A light sharpening test produced a rich black slurry almost immediately, with strong abrasive performance and a very smooth, comfortable sharpening feel.

Please note that these are not for beginner sharpeners since they're harder to use. These are natural stones meaning that every single one of them are different so my measured size are not accurate. This is a life time investment for people who lives sharpening their tools, do not hesitate to ask me your questions.”
