After 15 years of training, Abe Isamitsu is an independent blacksmith who started his own business in 2022 in Ibaraki Prefecture, near Tokyo.The first of Abe's specialties is that he has chosen to use Shirogami 1/Aogami Super steel. Second is the careful work (including sharpening) to maximise its potential.
His biggest specialty is that he has chosen to use Shirogami 1 and Aogami Super. He believes that especially Shirogami 1 is the best steel for kitchen knives. Because it's the purest carbon steel. This means that it contains mostly just Fe (iron) and C (carbon). Through much ingenuity and careful work, he expresses this purity in the form of
exquisite kitchen knives.
*The handle is a special pentagonal type, which is easy to grip for both right- and left-handed people. These are made from wood cut down at local homes and other sources, giving new life to trees that would normally be incinerated. In Japan, many trees felled outside of afforestation areas have to be incinerated, and by focusing on this problem, ISAMITSU is helping to solve a social issue. Each carefully crafted handle has a highly original finish, with all handles differing in color and grain.*

Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
