"Tosa Uchihamono" is a traditional craft with a history of more than 400 years, in which craftsmen use a press or hammer to consistently perform from forging to grinding/sharpening and finishing without using a mold.

Among the Tosa knives produced by such traditional craftsmanship, the "bonito knife" introduces this time is a knife that has long been used by fishermen, fish shops, and restaurants in Tosa (Kochi Prefecture), the home of bonito fishing.

This Bonito knives uses "Yasugi Aogami No. 1", which is the highest hardness among steels. It has excellent wear resistance, is hard to chip, and has a long-lasting sharpness.

Blacksmith: Tadayoshi Tokaji / Tadayoshi Forging Co., Ltd.

Learned the technique of "free forging" and mainly produces sickles, knives. The skill is highly evaluated nationwide and contributes to the spread of Tosa knives.

Among blacksmiths, Mr Itsuo Doi, who has the highest skill & most important position, he uniquely keeps the traditional manufacturing method, and production request comes by nomination from all over the world.


Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
