Japanese Natural Whetstone Aizu-to ’Kamiyori’ Grit #3000 473g from Fukushima Pref. F/S 3.01

Description

This is a rare natural whetstone Aizu from Kamimiyori, Oto-machi, Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture.

Quarried in the southern part of the Aizu region, near Tajima (Minami-Aizu area), Kamimiyori stones are extremely scarce today, with very limited circulation on the market.

Belonging to the Aizu whetstone lineage and typically regarded as a medium-grit class natural stone, it offers solid cutting power with a refined, smooth sharpening feel. The stone balances effective steel removal with the gentle feedback unique to Japanese natural stones.

Due to the limited historical extraction and the near disappearance of active supply, each example represents a rare opportunity to own a genuine piece of Aizu’s southern sharpening heritage.

Please note that these are not for beginner sharpeners, as they can be more challenging to use. These are natural stones, meaning each piece is unique, and the measured sizes may not be exact. This is a lifetime investment for those who truly live and breathe sharpening their razors and tools. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions.
