Description

This is a Nakayama Mizu Asagi natural finishing stone from Kyoto.
The stone was acquired from a domestic dealer who had kept it in long-term storage. It shows the calm and refined appearance typical of Mizu Asagi, and while it is relatively hard (Lv.4.5+), it still provides the smooth sharpening feel characteristic of this type of stone. The sharpening surface is fairly uniform, producing a very fine, deep black slurry that rises gently and refines the edge while polishing it smoothly. There is no excessive sticking to the edge, and the stone offers a pleasant sense of glide during sharpening. The use of a nagura is recommended. As expected from Nakayama Asagi stones, it produces a refined and elegant finish, making it suitable for razors, Japanese knives, high-quality Western knives, and plane blades as a final finishing stone. A very slight layer’s crack can be seen on the sharpening surface, but it is not expected to cause any serious scratching during use.

Please note that these are not for beginner sharpeners since they're harder to use.These are natural stones meaning that every single one of them are different so my measured size are not accurate. This is a life time investment for people who lives sharpening their knives, razors and tools, do not hesitate to ask me your questions
