This is the Shohonyama Wachi Aoto natural whetstone from West Kyoto ( Near by Hideriyama ) it is an old stock from the ex-miner of Aoto, For the middle to pre-finishing process of your knives ( particularly single bevel ), woodworking tools. Denser one yet still thirsty stone, It is recommended to add water little by little while progressing with the sharpening process. Compared to typical Aoto stones, this one is exceptionally clean.　Separation of iron powder is also good, you can sharpen the blade smoothly, creating a good blade and well link to finishing Awasedo Jnats! You can see the good result with this Aoto after synthetic whetstone #1000 girt, enable to make toothy edge. There is a crack on the side but it stopped in the middle. If you wish us to seal it, please let us know when the timing of your order. Please note that these are not for beginner sharpeners since they're harder to use. These are natural stones meaning that every single one of them are different so my measured sizes are not accurate. This is a lifetime investment for people who live sharpening their tools, do not hesitate to ask me your questions.”
